Frequently Asked Questions
WHY WE DO NOT MAKE CAMPFIRE ON A TREK
In the commercial target world, our target is not only to earn money by organizing treks for adventure lovers. But also being a responsible company we promote sustainable teks,
which have a very low impact on the Himalayas. We do not attract trekkers by providing everything on a trek in that wilderness. If you are enjoying the same comfort level and 5-star
service even on an adventure trip, it doesn’t remain an adventure. If you are not feeling the wilderness then what is the meaning of trekking? You cannot just expect a plate of biriyani
on a high-altitude campsite. And we, frankly speaking, we will not provide any luxury on any trek. You purely want to give the raw Himalayan adventure experience in the mountains &
forest away from your home. This is why we do not promote and provide campfires on any trek.
The making of campfires harms the environment of Himalayan flora & fauna. It is totally prohibited by the Ministry of Forest Department. The bollywood creates a misconception in the minds of the Indian crowd that you go to the mountain and light fire anywhere. This promotes a red signal for trees. The smoke pollutes the Himalayan atmosphere. Just think
if every group of trekkers started campfires everywhere what would look Himalayas after 3/4 years? We can not just spoil our only Himalayas, we need to protect them for the next
generation also. We can not finish the woods just for our few minutes of enjoyment.
And campfire is not only harmful to the environment but also affects your health and acclimatisation on trek. The heat and smoke will leave you with a negative impact. The mountains
are often very windy, so sometimes littering fire is very dangerous for all the trekkers and camping gears. We might face an accident in high-altitude wilderness. Then we will be
shelterless for the night in that weather condition. You might get hurt by the fire, and also you might burn your expensive hiking gears like jacket and boot. So it would be better
if you enjoyed the evening inside the dining tents. Otherwise, you can capture some night photography. After the long day trek, and also we need to trek the next day further, we should have
early dinner by 8 PM and go to sleep to get up early in the morning to witness the beautiful sunrise views.
Enjoying a campfire is still a dream of many enthusiasts. We don’t want to leave you hopeless or we don’t want to deny your adventure enjoy with a campfire. So we can arrange a low
impact small campfire at the end of the trek where we are having a homestay for the last night. If it is possible for us we will definitely give you a small arrangement of campfire
safely. But hope you all understand why we don’t light a campfire on campsites.
